Emblems of professional associations who accredit the HICAT Course

The Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Therapy Practitioner Training Course (HICAT) was developed by Isabelle Cunningham, Founder of Mind Body Education (MBE). MBE have been training students globally since 2008. This course is recognised in numerous countries and has been accredited by several leading professional associations. 

Accreditation and Industry Recognition

The Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Course (HICAT) is an industry regulated course. Industry-related courses, such as those in meditation, holistic counselling, and yoga, do not fall under the government-regulated framework. The course's developer, has earned multiple prestigious awards, including recognition from:


  • The International Institute of Complementary Therapists (IICT)
  • The International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM)
  • The International Association of Therapists (IAOTH)
  • The Complementary Medicine Association (CMA)


Graduates of the HICAT course are eligible to join these respected associations and can enjoy the added benefits of professional practitioner insurance.

HICAT Graduates and Global Opportunities

HICAT graduates are equipped with the ability to use professional titles such as HICAT Practitioner, Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Therapy Practitioner, Creative Arts Facilitator, or Creative Therapist. Outside of Australia and New Zealand, graduates may use the titles Creative Therapist or Creative Arts Facilitator. Our graduates are also able to work in more than 20 countries, bringing their skills to a global audience.

Ongoing Support

We offer ongoing support through the free HICAT Association, designed to connect and guide practitioners as they continue their professional journeys.

Please Note

HICAT graduates are not eligible to join ANZACATA with this qualification, as ANZACATA requires a master’s degree in art therapy.
